Managing the Complete Product Lifecycle

An effective product at a lower cost makes a customer happy, improves job security for employees, profitability for investors, and creates a thriving, sustainable business. However, with the skyrocketing consumer demands, organizations are splurging vast amounts of capital on developing advanced products. In the process, manufacturers include a mix of mechanical, electronic, software, and service elements, which increases product complexity. Due to the mounting intricacy at every stage of product lifecycle, organization are heavily investing in PLM technologies and services to streamline and simplify the complex process while accelerating product delivery, reducing costs, and generating higher revenues. Helping numerous manufacturers across industries, Inceptra provides a suite of PLM solutions that enhances a firm’s complete product lifecycle. “We help our clients design, simulate, produce, and manage their products to improve their end business productivity,” highlights Jim Ryan, Chairman, President and CEO, Inceptra.

As a PLM technology and services provider, Inceptra brings together experienced PLM solution providers and top-notch consulting services to help customers maximize their PLM software investment. Inceptra’s Model Based Definition (MBD) Accelerator is an application that extracts, defines, manufactures, and inspects critical information involved in a 3D model assembly, and presents it in simple formats. “Doing so, our MBD Accelerator solution automates the production of First Article Inspection Reports, and streamlines our customers’ MBD data throughout their enterprise,” explains Ryan.

Since its inception in 2009, Inceptra’s long-term partnership with Dassault Systèmes (DS) enable users to build 3D design, 3D digital mock-up, and PLM solutions to provide sales and support for the complete range of DS products. “Our partnership with the DS PLM portfolio helps our clients leverage DS’ 3D CAD software tools including DS CATIA, ENOVIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA, and EXALEAD, which provide our clients with integration services, automation services, and other industry disciplines—composites design,” notes Ryan.

By implementing CATIA, clients can not only model a product, but also provide an instinctive 3D experience with its effective 3D modeling and simulation capabilities. With CATIA, customers can successfully integrate 3D virtual design, finite element analysis, collaborative product development and workflow management into its product design and production processes.

Meanwhile, “Collaborating with DS’ ENOVIA provides our users with a secure and real-time environment for all users to find, share, review, and report on product information,” articulates Ryan. ENOVIA helps customers efficiently deliver a compelling experience to clients requiring collaboration between their employees, customers, and suppliers,” elucidates Ryan.

Through its enhanced product innovation, extended collaborative design, manufacturing capabilities, and automated product lifecycle processes, Inceptra has helped several clients understand their top-line growth, as well as the bottom line results to optimize user productivity. In one such instance, Inceptra together with DS, helped Amcor—a multinational packaging company—deliver top-quality, innovative containers to its customers, much faster and cost-effectively. The partnership of two the PLM experts enabled Amcor to implement DS CATIA, ENOVIA, and SIMULIA PLM solutions to reduce its design cycle time by nearly 50 percent and enhance communication among its teams to deliver lighter containers and improve time-to-market. Partnering with the duo, Amcor could also design bottles with fewer physical prototypes, eliminating material wastage. Being an integral part of the DS 3D experience platform and leveraging SIMULIA product development, the client could reduce the time and costs of physical prototypes, while improving product reliability, safety, and performance.

“Working together for the success of our customers, we have built a strong partnership with the aim to serve the PLM space and help customers capitalize on their investments in innovation,” concludes Ryan.
